Barbara Bear Jamison is a 4th generation Wilmingtonian and her award winning works reflect her love of the coastal region where she has lived and traveled. The scenes include people, boats and nature saturated with the beautiful light and color of the areas she paints.  Jamison has a BA in Art Education from UNC-Chapel Hill and has participated in numerous workshops with well-known artists. Her work can be found in her studio at ArtWorks, as well as All About Art Gallery, City Art Gallery, and Water + Color Gallery.

Rena Powell’s quality of light in her paintings illustrate her love for the land in her native Wrightsville Sound area and have become a unique attribute to her work. Her focus has been "plein air" or outside oil painting on small panels using a French easel around Wrightsville Beach, Southport, and Bald Head Island. Recently, her process has begun to include studio work using the plein air studies and photographs as a guide for larger works. She has strived to master expressive brushwork, the use of "broken color", and texture to convey an emotional connection to the environment and community in which she grew up. Her paintings can be found in numerous private collections, and have won several awards. Rena lives in Southport, NC with her daughter.

Jodie Wren Rippy is an artist who thrives on finding a myriad of ways to make her marks. At her core she is a representational oil painter. Art and the making of art has been an integral part of her life since childhood. Her work has been influenced by painters of the Impressionist period and abstract expressionists. She feels God has blessed her with a wonderful gift that allows her to have fun creating and making art using the mediums of oil paint, collage, gouache and watercolor. Rippy holds degrees from Peace College and a BS in art education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has studied with nationally renowned artists and has painted on location in Greece, France, Portugal, Spain, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Mexico, the American Southwest as well as her local areas of Wilmington, Bald Head Island and the North Carolina mountains She has been featured in magazines, recognized with regional awards and appears in private as well as corporate collections. She has a permanent exhibit with First Union Securities in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jenny McKinnon Wright is intrigued by light as it affects nature in a particular moment. To capture that emotion and connect with the viewer is the goal. It’s the effect of light on color that fascinates her. A constant student, Wright delights in the journey of pushing oil paint around to build forms using luscious combinations and varied techniques. She leaves it to the viewer to imagine stories about the place that caught her eye. Wright started her education at her Aunt Sarah’s side, then earned a degree from ECU, and followed with graduate work at GA State University while teaching high school art. She continues to study with well-known artists.
