Join the Burgwin-Wright House for its 2025 Walking Tour Series in downtown Wilmington!
Throughout 2025, Wilmington's oldest and largest historic site will take history beyond the property for an immersive walking tour of downtown.
On January 10, April 11 & 12, July 11 and October 10, the walking tour's theme will be "Cape Fear Legends & Lore." Pulling from nearly 300 years of history, the "Cape Fear Legends & Lore" tour will include stories of the tunnels underneath Wilmington, the legend of Lord Cornwallis' Revolutionary War visit to town, the time Yellow Fever turned the city into a ghost town, and the rebellious age of Prohibition.
The walking tour will depart from the Burgwin-Wright House (224 Market Street) at 9 a.m. and run 90 minutes. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water to drink.
