Join historian Rick Morrison as he discusses the British Southern Strategy in the American Revolutionary War and the British occupation of Wilmington, NC.

About the talk
Between 1780 and 1781, the Carolina's became the focus of General Charles Lord Cornwallis’ Southern Campaign. Morrison will explore the ongoing struggle this created between Whig (patriots) and Tory (loyalists) factions within North Carolina.
About the Author
Rick Morrison is a retired naval officer, homeland security analyst, and disaster response analyst. He holds degrees in healthcare administration, history, management, and national security and strategic studies. A 2017 graduate from UNC Wilmington in history, Rick currently works as a historic interpreter at the Burgwin-Wright House and Gardens in Wilmington and Fort Fisher State Historic Site in Kure Beach.
